What a fun Christmas season it has been!! We've kept busy the past couple of weeks. We had our ward Christmas Party. Both Cael and Daniel had parts in the program. Cael was Joseph and Daniel was a Wiseman. Cael's class put on a Christmas play at school called the "Gingerbread Kid Caper" which was really cute. Christmas Eve we ate our traditional 'Journey Meal'. It is a family tradition that comes from Cortney's family, where we eat by candlelight things that Mary and Joseph might have eaten back on their way to Bethlehem, such as soup, cheeses, bread, olives, grape juice etc. That night we also opened one present and watched a movie called, "Joy to the World" which portrays the birth of Jesus and the real reason for Christmas. The kids finally all crashed around 11:00 just in time for the much anticipated arrival of Santa Claus to deliver Christmas surprizes and fun!
Christmas morning was spent in a whirlwhind of excitement, toys, presents, boxes, and wrapping paper! It's amazing what a mess Christmas can make. We spent the day enjoying our presents, getting toys out of ridiculously complex packaging, putting toys together, and getting all the choas under somewhat control so we could start working on Christmas dinner. Nic wanted to eat something gourmet for Christmas dinner this year and chose Filet Oscar. The kids chose bleu cheese chicken wings. Nic and Cortney spent the evening cooking dinner together. Cortney was little nervous about cooking it and how it would taste, but Nic was right, and the Filet Oscar tasted wonderful. Despite Nic being under the weather and Nathan getting sick, we had a fabulous Christmas and hope you all did too!!!!

Cael's Baptism

This past weekend, our second son Cael was baptized by Nic. What a wonderful day it was! What a sacred and special ordinance this is. We are grateful for Cael and for his choice to follow the Savior's example and hope he continues to do so through out the rest of his life. He was also confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and recieved the Holy Ghost. We're grateful for the family who was able to make it for this special occasion and enjoyed spending time with them. What a wonderful weekend it was and hope it is one Cael can always remember!

Do YOU believe in Santa?

We had the chance through Nic's work to meet the official Macy's Thanksgiving parade Santa. He's going on tour around the US to promote their Believe campaign. Besides sitting with Santa and talking with him, the kids were able to listen to Santa tell them the story "The Night Before Christmas", have cake and get their face painted. They also wrote their letters to Santa Claus and put them in Macy's special red mailbox, whereas for every letter to Santa recieved, $1 is donated to the Make-a-Wish foundation.
It was a magical and fun evening. The Delgado's BELIEVE!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!! We had a wonderful day together as a family with a lot of food and family fun. We have a lot to be thankful for this year: each other, wonderful extended family, home, food, Nic's job, a great ward, and the gospel of Jesus Christ that blesses our lives in a profound way. We are grateful for the goodness of life and for all of you! We hope your Thanksgiving was an enjoyable one as well!

Cael's Birthday!

Cael turned 8 years old last week!!! We celebrated his birthday with a 'GI Joe' theme party.

We had a whole group of 'special forces' join us for training and the celebration. We had target practise, bomb targeting, bomb diffusing, and flight training, along with our cupcakes, ice cream and presents.

We hope you enjoyed your special day, Cael, and know how glad we are to have you in our family. We love you! HAPPY 8th BIRTHDAY!!

Dear Family and Friends,

It seems like the year 2009 came blazing in and is ready to be gone in a flash. Our family has been so blessed and we thank our Father in Heaven for so many things, especially each of you. Rather than write a long, drawn out Christmas letter we just wanted to say thank you for being there for us and enriching our lives. We want to hear about you and yours! To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under Heaven... this season is a time for families and friends to connect. It is a crucial time for people to put each other and the most important relationships we take with us before things, pursuits, distractions, etc. We want to make a better effort to reconnect and stay connected with all the people we love. That the spirit of this Holiday season may warm hearts and enrich all of our lives. We wish each of you the best Holiday Season and an Amazing New Year!! Our prayers and thoughts are always with you! We are so grateful for our wonderful kids, our awesome families and all the incredible people we have met, know and will yet cherish! May the Hope of the Season, the Peace that Passeth understanding and the Love / Support you desire bless each of your families now and always! Wishing You Happy Holidays and a Bright New Year!!

Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween Everyone!!! We hope everyone enjoyed their Halloween, because we did. Between the ward trunk-or-treat, class parties, and trick-or-treating the kids got plenty of candy and had a lots of fun. Here is everyone in their costumes. Because we had so many different parties to go so, some dressed up in different costumes different nights. For the ward trunk-or-treat Nic was 'Senor Delgado', Daniel 'Linus' (from Charlie Brown), and Nathan 'Scooby Doo'. They decided to switch things up and wear something different to go trick-or-treating on Halloween.

Either way, everyone was very 'BOO'tiful!!!
